Ever seen a graduate struggling to get a job or money to spend on essentials? It is not an experience anyone wishes for.

The actions you take and even those you refuse to take while in school will eventually add up to help you become a successful graduate or a struggling one.

There are certain things you can start doing as a student that will contribute to making your entry into the labor market a sweet experience.

If you’ll hate to finish school and struggle for years before landing a job, make these smart moves as soon as possible.

1. Acquire a hard-Skill

Go and learn hand-work.

This might sound out place to many students; "aren't we in school so we don't have to do menial jobs?" they'll ask.

Smart students know that the education they acquire in school is put to use better when combined with a hard-skill such as tailoring, baking, hair styling, shoe making, driving or any activity that can be referred to as hand work.

After all said and done, it should impress you that after graduation, the hand work you learn will keep you preoccupied before getting that dream job with NNPC, while you earn money.

2. Learn how to run a business while in school

This is very important as it will contribute a lot to your personal-development.

Don’t complain about time or how your course of study is demanding. Make out time and you’ll be happy you did in a few months’ time.

It could be a part-time business or something you run periodically; say during weekends or during semester breaks.

Starting and running a business on campus no matter how small will give you an edge when you get into the labor market either in your search for a job or as someone who wants to be an entrepreneur.

What else in your opinion should students do to ensure they’re never jobless after school? Share.
